Emberwell ("the app," "we," "us") is a perimenopause and menopause symptom tracker operated by Matthew Brestelli. We built Emberwell to be private by default. This policy explains what we do and don't collect.
Your symptom logs, daily check-ins, cycle events, tracked-symptom choices, optional display name, and app settings are stored locally on your device. By default this information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us or anyone else.
If you choose to turn on cloud backup, you create an account (via email, Apple, or Google) and your entries are synced to our cloud provider so you can restore or use them across devices. This is off by default and entirely optional. Access is restricted to your account. If you delete your data or account, your synced data is deleted as well.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google, not by us. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We receive confirmation of your purchase/entitlement and related non-payment details; we do not receive or store your full payment card information.
When you use optional features, limited data may be processed by: Apple and Google (payments, sign-in), RevenueCat (subscription management), Supabase (optional cloud sync hosting), and Cloudflare (hosting this website). Each processes data only as needed to provide their service.
You can export all your data (JSON) and delete all data from within the app at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal information; contact us to exercise them.
Emberwell is a general wellness and tracking tool, not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice or diagnosis. We treat the information you log as sensitive and keep it on your device by default.
Emberwell is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy; we'll revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
